Thank you letter from the Interval Home regarding the meal donation from banquet.

Bill Johnson letter regarding sale at Swift Current gun show.

Committee Reports:

Memberships 1068 LDFGA, 504 Outdoor, 213 Indoor

Update on website, memberships are now available online. Joanna K. can do reports from the website back end. Discussion regarding making the Membership Renewal button easier to find on Menu.

Youth Outdoor Activity DayJoanna K. will add the information to the website for the middle of March.

Indoor Range The conveyor belt is at the range and is needing to be installed. Darwin G. is organizing this. Keith B. would like to help out with the Indoor Range. Darwin G. update that there are 8 people on the list for RSO training. He will look into setting up a date for this course. Once a date has been chosen, posters should be put up at the range and at the gun shops. Black Badge course requests have been coming in, Andrew N. discussed August 8th and 9th 2020 for this. Joanna K. will post this on the website and social media once it is booked. Dwayne K. will be the contact for the Black Badge course and he will look into possibly booking this course for earlier in the year for 2021 (May or June).

Outdoor Range The electrical equipment still needs to be removed from the IPSC storage building. Talk to Randy N. or Dwayne K. to help out with that. Encouraged members to shovel sidewalk and shooting areas. Discussion regarding selling silhouette targets. Andrew N. will look into what exactly we have. There are boards available to replace in the Pistol Bay, someone just needs to do it, and they just slide in.

Conservation Camp Letters and application forms have been mailed out to eligible LDFGA youth members. They are due back March 23rd 2020. LDFGA is guaranteed 2 spots with AB as long as we let them know before April 15th. Discussion regarding where the boundaries are for eligible members. If there was enough interest, SWF has said they could open a 2nd girl’s camp. Posters were handed out to hang up.

Scholarships-   All schools have been contacted. Discussion regarding carrying over scholarships from 2019.

Trout Ponds McDougall fence needs to be put up as well as bench requires repairs.

Trophies Joanna K. to invoice again at the end of the month to those who have not yet paid up.

 

Gun and Outdoor Sportsman Show–   Look into using Pay Pal for Gun Show vendors for next year. Dwayne D. went through the results of the questionnaire and the feedback received from the vendors. It was mostly good. Discussed some issues with night security. Larry C. went through the final Gun Show financial numbers.

Archery Club / Youth Center Fun Shoot was held on Sunday February 23rd and there were about 12-15 attendees. The SK Indoor championships had a couple of LAA members attend.

Banquet Larry C. went through the final Banquet financial numbers. Discussion regarding increasing ticket prices. The photos are ready, Dwayne D. will get these to Joanna K. to put up on the website and social media.

Fish Fry –Bill A. update. Tickets are available at Sheps and Wildside Outdoors. Garry C. will be an alternate contact.

Old Business:

  1. Contacted Mark Fawcett and he will try to get the lead cleaned out during the Indoor Range construction.
  2. Bill A. has been in contact with Clint Chocan, and his school group of 275 kids, would like to use the LDFGA facilities for educational purposes. They have rescheduled for March 9-13 2020. Archery portion is covered.
  3. SK Bird Workshop will be held on February 28, 2020 from 7pm-9pm.
  4. A volunteer(s) are needed to take over mowing at the range.

 

New Business:

  1. Joanna’s job description is complete and just needs to be reviewed by the Executive. Once this is done, an advertisement will be put out for the job opening.
  2. CCFR discounted membership rate for SWF members.
  3. SWF Convention brief discussion regarding resolutions.
  4. AWIC Summit in Saskatoon on May 22-24, 2020.

MOTION by Brian S. that the LDFGA sponsor Janelle Mysko to attend the AWIC Summit, in Saskatoon in May 2020, seconded by Gerry R., carried.
