Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association – Minutes of Meeting – June 23, 2026

Dwayne D. called the meeting to order at 7:15 pm at the LDFGA Youth Centre and via Zoom hybrid.

Minutes: Presented minutes from GUC/Zoom hybrid meeting May 26, 2026. Janelle Mysko was listed as attended and not attending; she was at the last meeting. In correspondence it was incorrect that we need to spend 50% of the grant to be reimbursed; we may be reimbursed up to 50% of money spent up to the amount of each grant from the RM and Sask. Lotteries.

MOTION by Bill A., to adopt the minutes from May 26, 2026, as corrected, seconded by Tyler W., carried.

Financial Report:
MOTION by Larry C. to adopt financial report, seconded Janelle M., carried.

Correspondence: None

Old Business:
1. Dwayne D. sent out draft copy of Range Orientation built with Mike H prior to Nov. 25th meeting. Add in a waiver
section as advised by our insurance agent.
2. Bylaws update – Dwayne D. contacted the AWF CEO Kelly, and we will need to add an operating name into our
bylaws as part of the name change.
3. Dwayne D. would like to host a GPS Course.
4. There is a first aid kit at the indoor range, Dwayne D. would like to get a cabinet for it. The cabinet for the
outdoor range was installed, and the first aid kit is in it. We will have to move the first aid kit at the outdoor
range inside when the weather gets cold.
5. SWF Annual Golf Tournament was Wednesday June 17 in Humboldt. We did not attend but there were 34 teams
this year.
6. AWF Golf Tournament is August 27 in Acheson. Dwayne D. and Scott N. are interested in going. Please let
Dwayne know if you would like to attend.
7. No update on NLCC kitchen project.

Bills to be Paid:
MOTION by Garry C., to pay $150 to the Lloydminster Public School Division for the use of the bus for Youth Outdoor Activity Day, seconded by Bill A., motion carried.
MOTION by Brian S., to pay bills, seconded by Tyler W., motion carried.

New Business:
1. A Black Badge course was held at the outdoor range on June 13th & 14th. One non-member attended. The course
went well; there was one gun failure that required repairs.
2. Road and ditch work was completed. Thank you to CNRL for donating the new culvert and installing it. Larry C.
and Dwayne D. picked rocks and put grass seed out in the construction area and in the ditch on the CNRL road.
3. We need to find options for LDFGA branded clothing. Claire S. went to Northern Factory Workwear and got a
shirt that he had a LDFGA badge sewn on to show. We have been set up at Northern Factory to receive a 10%
discount.
4. Janelle would like to host an RSO course before September. We will reach out to the membership to see who is
interested in attending.
5. Discussion of a “Show & Tell” style event at the Youth Centre. It was decided this would be a display only event
and would be ideal to host in the spring. Displays could be items for hunting, trapping, fishing, taxidermy etc.
Any member could have a table, but the event would be open to the public and free to attend. We could see if
the local conservation officers would attend. Tyler W., Garry C., Janelle M., and Dwayne D. volunteered to form
a committee to organize this event and will have a meeting in the fall.
6. The garage clean up went well although there was no participation from the membership to help. Thank you to
Dwayne & Ronda Davison, Larry Chambers, Claire Schielke, Garry Cunningham & Ron Lane for all your hard
work!
7. Discussion on SPAM emails as there was one from the SWF recently. Please delete this email if you received it
and do not click on the link. If you did click the link please let Dwayne D. know so he can help you clear it up.
8. We will not be entering into this year’s parade but will try to organize something for next year.

Committee Reports:

Memberships – 949 LDFGA, 430 Outdoor, 161 Indoor.

Fundraising – NR

Youth Outdoor Activity Day – This year’s event was June 20th only due to low entries. The kids had lots of fun and great weather. Bill asked a teacher from College Park to come and take photos. Next year’s event will be one day only.

Conservation Camp – We have two youth to go to the Alberta camp which are Kori Mitchell and Oakleigh German.

Scholarships – NR

Merchandise – NR

Habitat/Gordon Leslie Project/Trout Ponds/Foster Property – Fishing has been good this year at the West pond. Dwayne D. and Darrell P. will look into more water testing at the McDougall Pond. Will try to get the DO meter back and take more readings when we add chemical to the water. Discussion on using Alum to combat nutrient levels causing the excessive algae blooms; currently pricing is $1700 to $2500 for granular application not including freight. Still looking into other suppliers in Canada. If any one is interested in being the steward for the AWF/ACA Gordon Leslie Property at Marwayne please contact Dwayne.

Trophies – NR

Gun and Outdoor Sportsman Show – NR

Archery Club / Youth Center – Regular open archery nights at the Youth Center are now closed until the first week of October. Outdoor archery ranges are open 7 days a week to LAA members until later in the Fall.

Banquet – Will be hosting a meeting in October for the 2027 banquet. We need someone to take over the raffle and
silent auction part of the banquet.

Fish Fry – Next event Thursday April 22, 2027.

Indoor Range – Propane tank will be changed out as per motion from the last meeting.

Outdoor Range – No report back from CFO inspection. Signs need to be put up with land coordinates etc. All the
backstops have been fixed; thank you to Claire S. and Scott N. for completing this project. Claire S. will look into some mesh fencing options for a wind break.

MOTION for adjournment by Brian S. at 9:09 pm. Next meeting will be August 25/26 at Grace United Church.
