Old Business:
1. Dwayne D sent out draft copy of Range Orientation built with Mike H prior to Nov. 25th meeting. Comments back
from executive board are to be made by Dwayne and brought back to the board.
2. Bylaws update – Carlo still making progress on it.
3. Dwayne D. would like to host a GPS Course.
4. Golf Car Raffle – Winner of the golf car was Curly Hallan. We need to send in Raffle Financial Report.
5. First Aid Kits are at the Indoor Range. Keith is building a cabinet for the first aid kit for the outdoor range.
6. Janelle hosted an indoor range event on Feb. 7 for Camp Hoo-Ha which is a women’s empowerment group to
learn new skills and have fun. Keith, Fiona and Marissa and Warren Tymchak helped teach the women how to
safely shoot the targets. There were 33 ladies who came out to shoot.

Bills to be Paid:

New Business:
1. Dwayne D., Larry C., Garry C and Bill A. attended the 2026 SWF Convention. Bill received Gordon Lund Memorial
Award. There were many great speakers who spoke of many topics such as programs, membership, elk hunts,
big game survey, wildlife health, fish hatcheries and wild turkeys. A goal was set to increase membership by
15%. The Sask CFO spoke of the building that has been rented to hold banned guns at no cost of the gun owners.
The gun owner must apply for the Federal Reimbursement Buy Back Program to qualify for this storage.
2. Dwayne D. attended the Alberta Conference. A full update will be provided at the March meeting. Our branch
did receive the Gerry Gibson Memorial Award. This award is given annually to a rural club or individual that has
done outstanding job of teaching outdoor educational programs in Alberta.
3. Discussion of possibly changing our organization’s name to Lloydminster Wildlife Federation to align with most
of the branches and both provincial bodies. This discussion will be continued at the next meeting.
4. Dynamic Shooting at the Indoor Range. Scott N. has been looking into what we need to do to do dynamic
shooting such as what would be required from the CFO inspection last year, but we would have to wait for the
results from that inspection.
5. Brief discussion on the process of how expenses need to be submitted and paid for events hosted by our
organization to achieve “Not for Profit” standards.

Committee Reports:
Memberships – 793 LDFGA, 339 Outdoor, 146 Indoor. Discussed results from the survey sent out with the membership mail out. We will have a discussion in a future meeting to come up with ways to try and increase our membership by 15% goal set by the SWF.

Fundraising – NR
Youth Outdoor Activity Day – This year’s event will be June 20 & 21, 2026. Bill A. would like to start advertising April 13.
Conservation Camp – New posters drafted by Fiona M. will be sent out to let the membership know the application period is open along with the camp details.
Scholarships – In the new semester Bill A. will be contacting the schools with the new poster created by Carlo M. and information on our scholarship program. Looking at revising how our scholarship requirements are written.
Merchandise – NR
Habitat/Gordon Leslie Project/Trout Ponds/Foster Property –Stewardship for the AWF/ACA Gordon Leslie area is open if anyone is interested. Dwayne will be getting the Barley straw bales soon for the algae control project and the installation/removal process is still being determined. Water sampling is scheduled to be completed in the warmer weather after runoff.
Trophies – NR
Gun and Outdoor Sportsman Show – Wind up meeting to be held, date to be determined.
Archery Club / Youth Center – Regular open archery nights are Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. JOP program and mail match program on now as well.
Banquet – Overall the banquet was a success. A wind up meeting will be held March 11 to give a full report at the next meeting. Thank you to Nya MacEwen for judging the photos at the banquet.
Fish Fry – This year’s event will be Thursday April 23 at the Moose Lodge. $25 per ticket. Bill has started the organizing of all the tasks to be done during the event. Tickets will be available at Grindin Gears.
Indoor Range – “Camp Hoo-Ha” event at the indoor range held on February 7
th which went over well, and the ladies had a great time. 33 ladies attended this event. Thank you to Janelle, Keith, Warren, Fiona and Marissa for helping with this event.
Outdoor Range – No report back from CFO inspection. Signs need to be put up with land coordinates. Sand/salt needs to be restocked to use for the walkways. The coyote target has fallen and needs a plan to be rebuilt. Keith B. would like to host rimfire evenings on Thursdays. Signs on fence can be removed for IPSC shooting on Thursdays and update website to let the membership know of the update and draw more members out to the range.
