Correspondence:

  1. SK 2018 Winter Games – City is putting a bid in for Games. Looking at possibly using our facilities. Youth building or pistol range for shooting air guns and the outdoor range for biathlon. They would be looking for some help on setting things up if awarded the Games. Dwayne D. will fill out data sheets and send them back to the city.

2016 Memberships are at gun shops. So far so good.

Youth Outdoor Activity DayNR

Indoor Range Sub-committee meeting will be held on Dec. 2 at 7:30 pm at Dwayne D.’s house 2619 46 Ave. Any pistol club member is welcome to attend. Target retrieval system will be discussed.

Septic tank has been installed. New copper U/G pipe has been run to the building. Bob’s Backhoe donated $1500 on the install of the septic tank. Hydrodig donated the hydrovac cost of $1113.

Graded, contoured and graveled the road up to the indoor range. Cinco Developments donated the equipment and labour for working on the road, approx. $560. Cost of gravel was $2868.52.

Discussed setting minimum age limit for indoor range. Tabled until next meeting.

Outdoor Range Parking lot is finished. Total cost was $6767.60. Donations included: Cinco Developments $1007 for hauling of Cat and grader work, Crew Energy $400 for pipes and posts, Ferguson Welding $500 for welding culverts and cutting posts, L & L Oilfield $60 to load pipe on trailer.

Last 2 benches are complete. Will be put up this week.

Discussed having our own power tools for maintenance rather than everyone bringing out their own all the time.

Old Business:

  1. Primitive weapons zone – Need to get info out to members and residents as to getting feedback on all parties involved. Interested parties include: acreage and land owners, conservation offices, industrial acreage owners, municipalities.
  2. Panic doors need to be installed. Archery Club executive saying panic doors are not needed. May need them for Winter Games.

 

New Business:

  1. Paul Klassen from the Rotary Club is wondering if we have any youth programs that may fall under their criteria. They may be interested in sponsoring youth to attend summer camps. They were wondering if we could go to one of their meetings and give a presentation. Gerry R. will set up presentation.
  2. Discussed getting Hunter’s education course through LDFGA. Trevor D. will look into it.
  3. Filcan Gun Club wants to hold pistol tournament just for them. Will be invited to pistol meeting Dec 2. to discuss further.
