MOTION by Garry C., seconded Gerald J., to adopt minutes from August 24th meeting, carried.
Financial Report:
MOTION by Larry C. to adopt financial report, seconded by Gerald J., carried.
Discussion regarding the Commercial Quick Loan and the annual fee that is associated with keeping it.
MOTION by Larry C. to cancel the Commercial Quick Loan at Synergy Credit Union, seconded by Garry C., carried.
Discussion regarding the PayPal bank account and the need for two signatures to transfer funds into the chequing account.
MOTION by Larry C. to remove the need for two signatures in order to transfer funds between accounts, including the Pay Pal bank account, at Synergy Credit Union, seconded by Joanna K., carried.
Correspondence:
Announcement of AFGA new Executive Director, Delinda Ryerson.
Discussed SWF and Ministry of Environment’s email regarding CWD testing in Saskatchewan. Brief discussion on the response from the Federal NDP to SWF establishing their platform on a number of areas of significant interest. SWF will forward the response from the other Federal Parties as they receive them.
Hannin Creek had a busy year and continues with the Women’s Camp on September 28th and 29th.
Committee Reports:
Memberships – 1423 LDFGA, 690 Outdoor, 250 Indoor
Discussion regarding membership prices for 2020. Larry C. and Joanna K. went through the financial reports and analyzed the income and expense in relation to memberships.
MOTION by Larry C. to keep membership prices the same as 2019 for the 2020 membership year, seconded by Keith B., carried.
Fundraising – NR
Youth Outdoor Activity Day – Discussion regarding parents understanding of acceptance to the event. A note on the application form stating that once payment is made at Sheps you are guaranteed acceptance to the event, unless the child has previously attended the LDFGA Youth Activity Day in the past, in which case they will be put on a waiting list and notified the week before the event.
Indoor Range –The conveyor belt is at the range and is needing to be installed. Darwin G. would head up the construction but would need a couple of volunteers to help him. A welder is needed to construct the stand for the belting. Mark Fossett will be contacted to coordinate a time so that he is able to collect the spend lead at the same time as the construction. Keith B., Tyler V. expressed interest in helping with the construction of the stand and installing the belting. They will contact Darwin G.
Outdoor Range – Dwayne D. and Bernie H. did some drainage dirt work at the range on Saturday September 21st. The water run off issue still needs to be cleaned up. Dwayne D. is organizing more drainage dirt work to be done on Saturday September 28, 2019 starting at 8am. The range will be closed for this. Volunteers are needed to help out and will need to bring a shovel and rubber boots. Joanna K. to send out an email to the membership asking for volunteers. Grass seeding should be done in the spring. Mike H. has offered to put the gong together.
The Outdoor Range bathroom is complete. Larry C. will get a commercial toilet paper holder. Volunteers needed to take care of the maintenance of the range- emptying garbage, target up keep, and weed whacking, bathroom maintenance and shovelling in the winter. Reid B. said he may be able to help with this. The IPSC storage building is in place, it will need to be cleaned up and the electrical equipment removed.
Conservation Camp –Women’s BOW Camp September 28th and 29th.
Scholarships- September 20th 2019 was the deadline for applications. No applications have been received as of September 24th 2019.
Merchandise – Discussion regarding purchasing more fish hooks. Will keep 50 for future Youth Activity Day and can sell the rest to interested members (Large Hooks $8.00, Small Hooks $7.00).

Trout Ponds – West Trout Pond update. The road has been graded and the sign is up. Garry C. sent photos of West Trout Pond to Government of Alberta. MacDougall Pond update by Larry C. Building is in the process of being re-sided. Plans to fix up the benches. Garry C. mentioned a picnic table that is being donated by Bob Sheppard to the Grace United Church garage sale. It will probably sell for around $100. This might be a good idea for the Archery Club. Dwayne D. to contact archery club. The garage sale starts on Tuesday October 1st.
Trophies – Joanna K. updated. Sponsors still needed for a few trophies. Joanna K. posted the available sponsorship on the website and Facebook. Joanna K. is looking for someone to take over judging the photography contest.
Gun and Outdoor Sportsman Show– Dwayne D. did a quick recap of the September 5th committee meeting. Still in need of a volunteer, or more, to take over the Chairperson position of the Gun and Outdoor Sportsman Show. Garry C. confirmed with Darwin G. that he will do gun check again. Joanna K. to mail out vendor application forms by the beginning of October.
Archery Club / Youth Center – Youth Program Registration Night October 20th 2019 starting at 7am. Youth Programs will run on Mondays and Wednesdays starting in November. Ages 6+ recommended.
Banquet – Dwayne D. did a recap of the September 10th committee planning meeting. Dwayne D. went over the changes in the program. Discussion regarding options for taking Credit Card and Debit payments. Joanna K. suggested a Square Terminal which costs a onetime fee of $299.
MOTION by Carlo M. to purchase a Square Terminal for taking Credit Card and Debit payments, seconded by Tyler V., carried.
Discussed the Ping Pong Raffle and possibly using stuffed animals which would give the Auctioneer more to work with and would keep the audience more engaged. The Auctioneer will also read the rules out. Wild meat donations will not be accepted unless proof of CWD testing can be provided.
Horn-Scoring Night discussion. It would be more of a social evening with snacks and drinks and an opportunity to show off your horns and antlers. Hoping it will increase interest in entering for awards. There would be a small entrance fee. Suggestion to call it ‘Bucks and Bulls Bragging Night’. Larry C. spoke to Moose Lodge and suggested Thursday December 12th as the date for the event.
MOTION by Tyler V. to host a horn & antler scoring and social night on Thursday December 12th at the Moose Lodge, seconded by Garry C., carried.
Larry C. talked about the entertainment options and the top choice is a magician/comedian. We would need 2 screens, a projector, camera and other equipment in order to have all attendees see the show. Larry C. to look into the cost of this before we make a final decision.

Old Business:
- Gerald J. would like to donate a rifle to the LDFGA to raffle off. Raffle license will be required. Hoping to do the draw at the banquet. He will require a donation receipt for 2019.
- Mark Fossett has been contacted and he will try to get the lead cleaned out during Indoor Range construction.
- Tyler V. updated on the LDFGA/CCFR Shooting Event at the Indoor Range. This will take place on Sunday October 6th from 10am-5pm. Joanna K. will post on social media and posters will be put up around Lloydminster.
- Tabled Motion regarding Joanna K’s wage increase was re-read and carried.
