Antlerless Elk Season Nov. 20-27, 2025
Lloydminster & District Fish & Game Association (LDFGA) does not support the Saskatchewan Government decision to hold an open antlerless elk season in WMZ’s 1-55, as announced by the Ministry to take place from November 20 -27, 2025. The broad brush approach to elk populations is not the proper way to manage this resource. The LDFGA does support the management of wildlife areas that have been identified as problem areas for agriculture.
The LDFGA is a registered member of the Saskatchewan Wildlife Federation (SWF) and the SWF does not agree with how the decision was made by the SK Ministry of Environment’s, to allow an antlerless elk hunt in Wildlife Management Zones (WMZs) 1-55.
We encourage our membership area to write to your local MLA with words on how this hunt is not the proper way to manage the elk population of the province. Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation is available to SK farms to work with compensation of wildlife damage from elk and other ungulates populations in their areas.
